Edgy haircut for medium length hair?

i am getting my hair cut tomorrow, and im not sure what i want yet. i want to keep my side bangs, and i want it a little bit above my shoulders (cuz my hair has a lot of varied layers, and the ends about 4-5 inches up have different degrees of split ends...) i want a unique/edgy sort of style, and i want it to grow long again cleanly... any suggestions? pictures would be helpful!
