Help and Advice regarding my 9 year old stealing and lying ?

i agree with brown sugar also make him apologize. make the teacher understand she has to be stern about it and not say that's ok. cos it isn't. he is old enough u can take him to the police station and explain to the cop what he did and have the cop take him through a real jail. they do this on certain days. u have to sign up for it and they lock up the prisoners but do not stop the arms from reaching out and calling the kids names like candy *** and stuff. it is supposed to scare them. it does some kids it doesn't others. have the teacher discuss in cl it is wrong to take things out of the clroom without asking with out mention his name or making it clear he did that. at home i would make him sit and write an essay or reasons why it is wrong to steal. or take things that are not his and about the lying. if this doesn't work then start taking privileges and grounding him. start with 3 days if it is tv u take away don't turn it on while he is home that way he can't even llisten to programs he enjoys with the baby. find other things to do with the baby and kind of ignore him. saying things like u r grounded til u stop lying to me. i deserve better. don't ever tell him u don't love im but u can say u don't like him when he lies and nobody likes or respects a liar. if the tv doesn't work then make it a week no tv and not nintendo. no friends no phone no no no til he stops lying. if he tells the truth make the punishment less than if he outright lied. tell him u lied first but then corrected yourself i have to punish u for the deed but it will be less cos u came to me with the truth soon he will be able to trust and regain his self worth. good luck.
