How much can we get off on this used car?

Hi i've been looking at a used mazda protege5 at a dealership they are asking $8995 for it. The car has 63844 miles on it, it's a stick shift and they have had the car for a while because i guess no one really wants a stick any more. We recently bought a brand new car from the dealer for $17000 and we know the general sales manager. I went on kelly blue book and they say the trade in value for it in excellent condition was $5500 and the retail from a dealer was $9000 how much do you think we should offer for the car and try to haggle it down? Lastly what do you think about the car? Thank you very much for your help
