I really want to straighten my hair but i know it will brake and i dosnt work because my hair is to puffy?

my hair is to puffy and i cant straigten it bcuz it will brake wat do i do to make my hair straight becuz i h8te my hair puffy. btw am black and i dont have dat kind of nice hair but my hair is a little ong but not dat much itz lyk up to my neck but close to my shoulder
