When did rock and roll loose it's ?

I'm tired of this crybaby rock and roll and wussy rock like the killers and coldplay etc. Todays rock and roll embraces the melodrama of ersatz, pseudo-intellectual, self important bleating. Pion has morphed into fragile confessions. When did the blues become selfish whining?
